The Indian allrounder’s impressive bowling in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand in Ahmedabad earned her a remarkable 687 rating points, putting her just behind England’s Sophie Ecclestone. Despite the gap of 83 points between them, Deepti’s consistent performances showcase her growing dominance in women’s cricket. Across the two ODIs so far, Deepti has taken three wickets with an excellent economy of 3.42.

The India-New Zealand series, which is currently tied at 1-1, has seen multiple players rising in the ICC rankings. On the New Zealand side, Lea Tahuhu moved up three places to 12th, Amelia Kerr is up one spot to 13th, and Sophie Devine leapt nine spots to reach 30th among bowlers. Devine’s standout performance of 79 runs and 3 for 27 in the second ODI played a pivotal role in New Zealand’s victory, helping her jump to eighth among ODI batters.

Additionally, India’s Jemimah Rodrigues moved up after her valuable 35-run knock that helped India win the first ODI. Both Deepti and Devine have also made strides on the allrounders’ list, with Deepti advancing to No. 4 and Devine moving up to No. 7.

As the teams prepare for the series-deciding third ODI, these rankings shifts reflect the players’ strong performances and potential impact in the deciding match.
